Public meeting on Aghaming trails is planned

On Wednesday, January 11, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, the City of Winona Aghaming Park Advisory Committee will hold a public input meeting related to the Aghaming Park Trail System Plan. Funded through a McKnight Foundation grant, and prepared by Barr Engineering Company, the general purpose of this plan is to expand upon and refine trail planning goals as established in the Aghaming Park Master Plan (adopted 2000). As such, objectives of the trail plan include the presentation of proposed trail systems, a discussion of the ecological quality of environments through which trails and structures will be located, and detailed designs (including preliminary cost estimates) for recommended trail components.

A copy of the plan may be viewed on the City of Winona website ( Additionally, further information on this project, or a copy of the plan, may be obtained by contacting the Department of Community Development, Room 210, City Hall, 207 Lafayette Street, Winona, MN (507-457-8250).

Any person desiring to speak to this issue will be given an opportunity to do so during the January 11th meeting.
