January 1, 2007

There will no no meeting of the Winona Area Widowed Persons Service on January 1, because of the holiday. Next meeting will be February 5, 7 p.m. at the Senior Center. Board will meet January 16, 9 a.m. at Country Kitchen. Call Gen at 452-8334 if unable to attend. Breakfasts in January, 8 a.m. at Country Kitchen, dinners on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at Culver's Restaurant.

NAMI - CARE: Mental Illness Support Group will meet at Timber's back dining room on the first and third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting is on January 1, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. No registration or fee required. This support group is cosponsored by National Alliance on Mental Illness - Winona, MN and Project COMPASS.

January 2

The monthly meeting of the Winona Area Crime Stoppers Board of Directors will be held on Tuesday,January 2, at 8:00 a.m. at the Timbers (Prime Steak and Cake) in Winona.The meeting is open to the public.

January 4

Wanna clown around??? The Winona Clown Club will meet on Thursday,January 4,at 7:30 p.m. in thebasement of the Odd Fellows Hall at 961 West 5th St., Winona.All interested persons invited to attend. For further information, please call 507-452-5364 or look us up at www.winonaclownclub.org

Sequoia Society will hold the January 4, meeting at the Black Horse Restaurant at 12:00 noon. We will have lunch together prior to our meeting.

January 8

There will be no meetings of the Planning Commission in December. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be Monday, January 8, at 4:30 p.m. in the Wenonah Room of the Winona City Hall.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Environmental Quality Committee will be on Monday, January 8, at 4:00 p.m. in the Dakota Room at the Winona City Hall.

The Ruskin Study Club will meet at l:00 p.m., January 8, at Ann Gibson's home. Co-hostess will be Mary Joyce. After a brief meeting, Mary Wieczorek will present her paper, "Lime Creek #6 - A Landmark of Learning."

Chautauqua members will meet on Monday, January 8. Enda Fitzmaurice will present her topic at the home of hostess Barb Farrell. Patte Peterson will co-host.

January 17

Harvest House will meet Wednesday, January 17, for Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, with meeting to follow. Father Ginther will be the celebrant. Ron Galewski will speak on his trip to the Kaszuby area in Poland, blood pressure, weight and pulse be taken, and lunch served. Payment of $69 for the bus trip to a play on February 6, is due by January 25. Call Mary Ann Boyd at 452-6818 or Mary Ann Sauerer at 452-5587.

January 27

Come see the newly remodeled Cathedral and attend the Winona Area CCW meeting on Saturday, January 27, with mass at 9:00 a.m. Monsignor. Literski will then tell us of his trip to South America, followed by a business meeting. All ladies are invited.
