"At 11:12 a.m. police received a report of a Nintendo game valued at $150 was stolen from a locker at the Winona Middle School.
Friday, December 29
"At 2:25 p.m. police received a report of theft and damage to a vehicle parked at the Maplewood Townhomes. Zachary Steven Sinclair Kidd, 19, of Winona, reported that the rear window of his vehicle had been smashed and stereo equipment was stolen. Two 12-inch subwoofer speakers valued at $190, a Lightning Audio 1,000 watt amplifier valued at $300 and an ashtray from the dashboard were reportedly stolen. He said that he had parked the car there between 1:40-2 a.m. the night before, was arrested and brought to court, and discovered the damage and missing items when he was released.
Monday, January 1
"At 1:52 p.m. police received a call reporting an assault on the 200 block of East Third Street. Kateri Lynn Carlson, 27, of Winona, and Patrick Myron Wiederhoeft, 25, of Winona, reported that they were sleeping when Evan John Carlson, 26, of Winona, entered the residence and woke them up. Kateri said that Evan is her soon-to-be exhusband. She and Wiederhoeft reported that Evan then punched Wiederhoeft in the head several times, causing an eye injury. Evan was not present when police arrived, but may face charges of burglary and fifth degree domestic assault.
Wednesday, January 3
"At 2:48 p.m. police responded to a report of an assault at the Winona Middle School. A juvenile male, 13, of Winona, allegedly assaulted another juvenile male, 14, of Winona, while the victim was standing at a locker. The incident has been referred to the county attorney's office for potential charges of fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Friday, January 5
"At 12:02 a.m. police arrested Eric Alan Lee, 23, of Peterson, near Third and Main streets. Police said he was stopped for having a headlight out and arrested for second degree driving while intoxicated and open container in a motor vehicle. Police said that Lee had two prior charges of driving while intoxicated, one in 2000 and one in 2003.
