The January meeting of the Winona Area Widowed Persons Service will be on the 4th at 1:00 p.m. (note the new time) at the Winona Senior Friendship Center. There will be a brief meeting, then entertainment by the Silo Serenaders. The breakfast group will meet at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen every Tuesday. The evening group will meet at The China King Buffet each Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Executive Board will meet on Tuesday, January 19, at 9 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. The Winona Area Crime Stoppers Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday,January 5, at Timbers Restaurant in Winona. The meeting begins at 8:00 a.m. and is open to the public.
Sequoia Society will meet at the home of Julieanne Schwemer on Thursday, January 7. Program will be given by Karen Littlejohn.
The next meeting of the Hiawatha Valley Marines will be held at 1900 on Thursday, January 7, at the Winona Area Veteran’s Center. Agenda items include a review of the Toys for Tots effort, a review of 2009. All who are or did serve in the USMC or Navy Corpsmen who were attached to the USMC are welcome to attend.
Portia Club of Winona will meetat noon on Monday, January 11. Betty Darby has arranged the meeting at Betty Jo Byoloski’s.
Winona Women’s Shrine Auxiliary will meet on January 21, at 12:30 p.m. at the Elk’s Club. The luncheon menu is baked chicken, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, buttered corn, and apple crisp for $8.00 Cards will be played. All women are invited. Winter weather policy is, no meeting if the schools in Winona are closed. Reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781. The board of Winona Women’s Shrine Auxiliary met and approved donations to the General Shrine Auxiliary- Twin Cities Toys $171.00, Memorial $185.00, and $1,750.00 to be used as needed.
