Come and welcome the fully restored 1884 Steinway Grand Piano at the Winona County History Center on January 5! The Votruba and Woodworth family piano will be played by Nancy Edstrom Bachler, Dan Barr, and Jonelle Moore during a fun program that will travel through Winona County’s musical ages. The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 with wine & cheese, beer & snacks and coffee & deserts. Attendees are welcome to explore the new exhibit, Music, Sweet Music and the rest of the History Center. At 7:30 the program will begin in the Slaggie Family Lobby with some history of the Votruba and Woodworth families accompanied by our local talents on the Grand Piano. Images of Winona’s musical past will be diplayed on a large screen along with some early film footage done by Winona’s entertainment pioneer Ben Huntley.
Admission to this celebration of music and history is $10 per person. Other fundraising levels are available: Piano Tuner $25, Piano Student $50, Piano Teacher $100, Piano Restorer $250 and Maestro $500.
The piano will make its home in the lobby of the History Center and the WCHS is looking for piano players!
