Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Supervisor Thomas Choinski resigned his post effective December 26, 2010, citing family priorities that leave him little room for the elected position.
“I regret the inconvenience it may cause,” he wrote in a letter to SWCD leaders. “However, recent family and personal circumstances leave me no alternative. My priorities in life have changed significantly and I cannot continue with many of my previous activities and commitments.”
The resignation comes just after SWCD Supervisors fired District Manager Tim Terrill, which was preceded by the elimination of Winona County funds for the agency for 2011. Remaining supervisors will likely discuss how to replace Choinski during the regular SWCD meeting scheduled for January 12 at 9 a.m. at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.
