The Winona Area Coin Club will meet on Sunday, January 5, at 11:30 a.m. at the Winona Athletic Club meeting hall at 773 East Fifth Street, Winona.
The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will meet on Thursday, January 9, at 7:00 p.m., on the 2nd floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street, Winona. Walter Steiner’s presentation on “The Civil War and Higher Education in Winona” should appeal to all those interested in our local history. All are invited, and refreshments will be served.
Harvest House, a non-profit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, January 15, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting. Our speaker will be a member of the Winona Police Department to speak on the “Granny Scam”. Bring a non-perishable food item for a needy family. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. The Ribbon Warriors cancer support group meets at Callista Court, 1455 W. Broadway, every third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. We are all women who celebrate that we have had cancer and we are beating it.
