International Science and Engineering Fair


Makenna Gabel (left) and Karen Scharlau competed at the International Science and Engineering Fair held on May 14-19, in Los Angeles, Calif. This is the largest science fair in the world, where 2,000 students from 78 countries present their projects to judges. Gabel and Scharleau’s project was in the behavioral sciences division and analyzed the effects of texting and cell phone use on driving responses. They were awarded the prestigious American Psychological Association award for their project.
