Leighton Broadcasting and Winona Rotary Club have teamed up to offer a series of free picnics around Winona parks this summer. The first is scheduled for Thursday, June 29, at Paul Giel Field from 5-7 p.m. There will be a free picnic to the first 200 people, with food provided by Hy-Vee. Kids’ activities include a bounce house-type obstacle course, along with face painting, a cotton candy stand, bike giveaways and more. Mayor Mark Peterson will be attending, along with police and fire departments for education and demonstrations to make the community safer.
Over 20 different organizations have jumped aboard the Know Your Neighbor picnics in hopes that they can make the town better in communication and fellowship. All residents are welcome!
