A Winona man was killed after his vehicle slid on the icy road and rolled over an embankment in Dresbach.

James Weaver, 61, was taken to Mayo Health System in Rochester and pronounced deceased.

According to the State Patrol, Weaver was eastbound on I-90 south of the Dakota exit, following a semi. The semi was creating a "snow cloud," and Weaver lost control of his 2001 Ford Explorer. The vehicle went through the median, crossed the westbound lanes and went through a guardrail and over an embankment, coming to rest on its roof on Riverview Street in Dresbach.

Dakota Fire, Pickwick Fire, Nodine Fire, Gunderson Tri-State Ambulance and Winona County Sheriff's Department workers assisted at the scene. The State Patrol reported Weaver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
