The Rushford-Peterson Trojans defeated the Cotter Ramblers in a spirited meet on Thursday, January 25. The Trojans left the John Nett Recreation Center with a 39-52 victory over the Ramblers, who remain at the bottom of the Three Rivers standings. The Ramblers, who took the court on Thursday, looked much better than they’ve looked much of the season, with solid passing skills and a willingness to go toe-to-toe with an aggressive Trojan team. Their scoring was more competitive; a 13-point margin is better than their 18-point loss average, but it was not enough to keep up with Rushford-Peterson, who are in third for their conference at 6-5 behind La Crescent with 9-2, and St. Charles who top out Three Rivers at 10-1.
The Cotter boys varsity basketball team’s next game is on Tuesday, January 30, at Lewiston-Altura High School.
