Winona Rotary Club presented a plaque to Madelynn Bosch, eighth grader at the Winona Middle School, for her work on the Rotary Reader program. Bosch sorted over 800 books by appropriate reading level from prekindergarten through fourth grade for the club in preparation for this school year.
Rotary Club members go into elementary classrooms and read a book or two to students. The books are then left with the classroom teacher for his/her class to read again. Once during the school year, each student in the class receives a book to take home with them from their reader on behalf of the club.
This program is funded through the annual Rotary Rose sale and Ride the Ridges bike ride. For further information, contact Brad Bullard, Rotary president.
