The WINONArts series of free creative events continues with the first Cabin Fever Festival – two days of fun by the fireplace at Holzinger Lodge, March 2 and 3. By late winter a little cabin fever has set in, and WINONArts and the Park and Recreation Department, in conjunction with TREEDOME Productions, have just the solution: two days of free programming with something for everyone: music, games, great food, and family fun!
First up on Friday, March 2, are two wonderful bands — Ruben, playing folk rock out of Stillwater, and Ali and the Scoundrels, great female vocals from Mankato, performing in concert from 7-10 p.m.
Then on Saturday, March 3, from 12-4 p.m. there will be a Family Game Day with kids games and babysitting downstairs and a Settlers of Catan Tournament upstairs with prizes for the winners. So come out and get your Catan on! Sign ups are with Lee Gundersheimer by emailing at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And finally that evening, March 3, from 8:30 to 11 p.m., Tony Opelt will be hosting a team trivia competition with even more chances to win! Teams are urged to sign up and get in the game. You have to be in it to win it. Teams sign up to register with Lee Gundersheimer by emailing at email@example.com.
Blooming Grounds and Island City Beer are teaming up to have great food, beverages, wine, and home brews available both days.
Fresh off the wonderful (Not So) Floating Concert on Sunday, March 18, with well over 300 folks ice skating and boogying to the sounds of the Old Fashioneds, the city will continue to present a series of 25 free creative events, WINONArts, held throughout the year in various municipal parks and venues throughout Winona. WINONArts is possible thanks to founding sponsorships from Winona National Bank and Merchants Bank.
