Ridgeway Community School held the second of its three-week 500 Card Party Tournament on February 18 and had a player achieve what is believed to be the highest score in recent tournament history. Orlie Moger scored a 5,480 in eight rounds of play which tournament coordinators George and Mary Wenzel believe is the highest score since they took over as tournament coordinators in 2001. The other top players on February 25 were:
• Women’s: first place, Mary Wenzel, (3,560); second place, Doreen Backler, (3,510); and third place, Elaine Pflughoeft, (3,460).
• Men’s: first place, Orlie Moger, (5,480); second place, Jim Pelowski, (4,060); and third place, Claude Klein, (4,000).
The last games of the tournament was played Sunday, February 25.
