During an annual conference of tourism professionals from across Minnesota, Visit Winona received a Marketing Excellence Award from Explore Minnesota Tourism, the state’s tourism marketing organization. The award recognized the Visit Winona coloring book released last year as the state’s outstanding branding initiative, with judges calling it a clever way to tie the community together in a project that helps imprint Winona in the minds of visitors.
The coloring book project, spearheaded by Visit Winona partnership director Kate Carlson, featured pages sponsored by area businesses and organizations and drawn by several of the area’s talented artists. City landmarks and institutions are represented in the drawings, which were created by Toni Ambrosen, Julia Crozier and Julie Johnston. The coloring books are available at the Winona Visitor Center as well as from area retailers for $5.
This is Visit Winona’s third Marketing Excellence Award from Explore Minnesota Tourism, which compares Visit Winona’s entries against some of the largest cities in Minnesota when selecting winners.
