Family & Children’s Center has named Karen Wrolson as director of programs, Minnesota


Karen Wrolson, MEd, MS, joined Family & Children’s Center and has a clinical and educational background of almost 30 years. In La Crosse, Wrolson helped develop and direct two schools for at-risk teenagers – LEADERSHIP and LaCrossroads High School as well as numerous programs created to help individuals and families. As well as being a counselor, author, professional coach and an educator, Wrolson is a professional speaker and has spoken locally and nationally. She has a passion in assisting others restore control, meaning and direction in their lives. One of her favorite quotes is from Oscar Wilde: “Be yourself; everyone else is taken.”

Founded in 1881, Family & Children’s Center is a regional, not-for-profit agency that has helped thousands of children, adults and families enjoy better tomorrows. The center provides a continuum of services designed to strengthen families and promote individual well-being, including child abuse/neglect prevention programs, alternative schools, community-based counseling, community support programs for people seeking recovery from severe mental illness, residential treatment options and several outreach programs.

Family & Children’s Center is nationally accredited. With headquarters in La Crosse, Wis., and Winona, the center serves people throughout Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota and has additional offices in Black River Falls, Wis., Holmen, Wis., Rochester, Minn., Sparta, Wis., and Viroqua, Wis.
