The Winona County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) is launching an awareness campaign on April 16 through June about underage drinking called BUZZKILL. The purpose of the BUZZKILL campaign is to remind community members that it is illegal to provide alcohol to people under the legal drinking age of 21. Did you know an individual can face up to $3,000 in fines and a year in jail for providing alcohol to a person under the legal drinking age of 21? ASAP will provide information across the county to remind people about the legal consequences of underage drinking. ASAP will also highlight activities that provide students with safe alternatives and adults with opportunities to help prevent negative consequences of underage drinking. Please consider supporting local youth and this campaign through the activities listed at www.winonacountyasap.org/buzzkill, or follow the campaign at Facebook.com/asapwinona.
