The Old Main Historical and Community Arts Center continues its Gale Star series with student performances on Thursday and Sunday. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UW-L) music students will present a variety program on Thursday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. Featured in this program will be the UW-L Woodwind Quartet, Tuba/Euphonium quartet, Brass Trio, Trombone Quartet, and pupils from the cello and piano studio. Hear students who will become stars and teachers of the future perform music by Francaix, Debussy, Bach, Rachmaninov, Poulenc, and more.
The Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau (G-E-T) Red Hawk music students will present their program of solos and ensembles on Sunday evening, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. This program features students who have received top ratings at contest. It’s an opportunity to hear some of the most accomplished local young people, some of whom will enter college to prepare for a career in music. A gift will be provided from the Gale Star program to the G-E-T Music Boosters to encourage music students in their education.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for college students, and free to high schoolers and younger. To find Old Main turn south from Ridge Avenue at 12th Street, then right on College Avenue. The stone building is lighted; signs will be posted.
