Registration for Winona State University’s (WSU) Grandparents University 2018 is now open.
Grandparents University is an opportunity for grandparents to explore college life with grandchildren during a two-day intergenerational learning experience taking place from June 21-22, 2018.
Participants will learn from WSU faculty and staff in an interactive, collaborative, and fun-filled environment. On-campus housing in WSU’s Haake Hall is also available.
Grandparents and grandchildren select a major of study and take classes during the two days in their selected field.
This year’s seven majors are: portrait drawing 101: draw your grandparent/grandchild; physics in everyday life; get a clue!: an introduction to writing mysteries; terrific trees of the WSU campus: exploring our living classroom; clowning around 101; mysterious microbiology: the good, the bad, and the ugly; and Lego mindstorms: introduction to robotics.
Participants do not have to be a grandparent to participate. Grandparents University offers any special “grandfriend” the opportunity to explore college life and create lifelong memories.
Grandparents University will also accept a trio of participants. Two grandparents can bring one grandchild or one grandparent can bring two grandchildren. All must be enrolled in the same major.
