Festival favorite Joshua Bell will return to Winona next summer to open the 2019 season, which runs from June 30 to July 21. Other guest artists performing during the Minnesota Beethoven Festival’s 13th season include clarinetist Julian Bliss, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, the Parker Quartet, and 2017 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Yekwon Sunwoo. The season also features the return of the Manhattan Chamber Players and two appearances by the Minnesota Orchestra — the free concert at Lake Park on July 9 and the season finale on July 21. Olivier Latry, celebrated organist of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, will perform two recitals on July 2 and 3 at Central Lutheran Church.
“We are thrilled to welcome our friend Joshua Bell and the terrific Manhattan Chamber Players back this year as we continue the tradition of bringing a mix of returning performers and electrifying new artists to Winona,” said artistic and managing director Ned Kirk. “With the Beethoven Festival’s first solo clarinet and organ concerts, the 13th season promises to be one of our most exciting yet!”
Festival ticket packages will be available on March 5, 2019, and individual tickets for all other performances will go on sale on April 30, 2019. Further details about ticket package options and pricing will be announced in the coming months. Tickets and more information will be available at mnbeethovenfestival.org.
