Greg Brosig was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth Representative for the month of June. Greg is the son of Mark and Kathy Brosig and a member of the Mount Vernon Beacons 4-H Club. He graduated from Lewiston Altura High School and plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
Brosig has been the vice president of his club for two years and the treasurer for three. He has taken swine, dairy, food and nutrition, and equine projects to the fair throughout his time in 4-H. Brosig said, “I learned that when you put work in, you can see the progress.” He has cleaned up local road ditches for 12 years and helped with many Thanksgiving dinners for the elderly. “It has helped to teach me to give back to my community,” he stated. When asked what 4-H has to offer, Brosig replied, “It teaches you responsibility while having fun. You are provided with a great opportunity to get involved in your community. 4-H has given me a chance to show animals locally through the fair. Also, being treasurer has taught me responsibility and how to manage the club’s money.”
Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis Club honors one outstanding Winona County 4-H member during its breakfast meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The club meets every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Winona Family Restaurant.
