Celtic Cross is a band of folks who play mostly traditional Irish music, voted to be La Crosse’s number-one Irish band for the third consecutive year. Dublin’s Daughters are a trio of women from Celtic Cross who occasionally venture out on their own to perform. The trio is made up of Julie Bodendein, guitar, vocals; Jackie Stakston, fiddle; and Regina Chihak, flute. Dublin’s Daughters play music with various Celtic rock, traditional Irish, and folk tunes. For a very special performance to be held at Old Main on Thursday, September 20, another Celtic Cross member, Michael Wodzak (vocals, whistle, bodhran), will be joining them as their guest.
The Old Main Gale Star program seeks to present the finest folk, classical and popular music in the historic, acoustically live auditorium of the stone building where many artists love to perform.
The program will begin at 7:30 p.m., and complimentary refreshments are to be served at intermission in the gallery where everyone can enjoy the photography of Greg Roskos. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for college students, and free for those in high school or younger. Everyone is welcome.
To find Old Main at 20869 College Avenue, turn south from Ridge Avenue at 12th Street in Galesville, and then take a right. The stone building is lighted; new Old Main street signs are up.
