Under Paris Skies, who gave some of their earliest performances at Old Main, will perform again for the Gale Star series at Old Main on Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. This is a very popular group featuring jazz guitar, upright bass, and accordion. Their music is inspired by French sidewalk cafes, cabarets, and Euro streets; it includes gypsy jazz, vintage swing, tangos, waltzes and boleros.
Complimentary refreshments will be served at intermission in the second floor gallery where there will be a fine display. See the wildlife art created by Warren Rivette and wood turning pieces by John Griffiths.
The Gale Star series at Old Main is in its seventh year. People are discovering the great music the Coulee Region has to offer and the wonderful acoustics of the 19th-century stone auditorium at Old Main. The setting invites a warm relationship between the audience and the performers.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for college students. Performances are free to people in high school and younger. Old Main is located at 20869 College Avenue in Galesville. Turn south on 12th Street from West Ridge or West Gale Avenue to College Avenue and then turn right. The stone building on the left side of the street is Old Main. Signs are posted.
