Many reflect on Christ’s passion today,
they saw the film
read the book
then bowed their heads to pray.
He bled and died for you and me
ridiculed, spit upon
hung there on that wretched tree.
Anguish and sorrow met
that Good Friday so long ago.
Because of Him, we won’t know
the pain and rejection He endured
on that despised cross.
Oh! The love that kept Him there!
On the third day He rose
victorious o’er the grave!
He did it all for you and me
so, eternally, we would be saved.
All praise to Him, our Risen Christ
on this glorious Easter Day.
