Wednesday, January 8

• At 1:02 a.m. officers arrested Abdulla Abdulhalim Shigidy, 19, of Apple Valley, Minn., and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of fourth-degree driving while intoxicated. According to the report, officers initially stopped Shigidy for having a brake light out on Fifth and Main streets. A breath test reportedly measured his blood-alcohol content at 0.08 percent.

• At 8:51 a.m. a Winona man reported that in the past few days someone stole a six-foot by 10-foot enclosed cargo trailer parked in the lot at the Winona Mall.

• At 12:33 p.m. officers ticketed Nathan Jon Barbian, 33, of Winona, with trespassing at Walmart.

• At 1:53 p.m. a Winona man reported that a front-door window was broken out on the 1150 block of West Fourth Street.

• At 2:25 p.m. officers ticketed Amanda Kay Fast, 36, of Winona, with theft by shoplifting at Walmart. She was subsequently served a trespass notice, according to the report.

Wednesday, January 8

• At 9:55 p.m., deputies received a report of a residential burglary on the 29000 block of County Road 125. According to the report, unknown suspects entered a residence while people were at home. The incident is under investigation. '

• At 2 p.m. deputies arrested Alex Anton Ruff, 33, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 600 block of East Second Street.
