Winona Police

Friday, January 10

• At 1:06 p.m. officers received a report of Hy-Vee receiving four fraudulent checks with respective values of $278.65, $164.45, $201.70, and $190.67.

• At 3:52 p.m. a Winona man reported that at a residence on the 150 block of Mankato Avenue, a basement window was broken out and an Xbox was stolen.

• At 6:34 p.m. a man reported that on January 9, $300 in cash was stolen from him on the 950 block of Frontenac Drive.

Saturday, January 11

• At 3:38 a.m. a man reported that someone broke the passenger-side mirror off his vehicle on the 60 block of West Broadway between 12:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.

• At 4:51 a.m. officers arrested Andrew Michael Lehner, 24, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of gross-misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. According to the report, Lehner got into a vehicle inside a garage on the 1100 block of West Fifth Street, backed the vehicle through the closed garage door and hit another vehicle parked in a driveway. A breath test reportedly measured his blood-alcohol content at 0.08 percent.

• At 6:15 p.m. a Target employee reported that his iPhone 8 and his driver’s license, which was attached to it, were stolen from the breakroom between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on January 10.

Sunday, January 12

• At 12:32 a.m. officers arrested Eddie Lamorris Jones, 34, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of gross-misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after reportedly pulling him over for speeding and traveling over the center line on Broadway and Vila Street. A breath test reportedly measured his blood-alcohol content at 0.17 percent.

• At 12:35 a.m. a Lewiston woman reported that her vaping device and a medical marijuana vaping cartridge were stolen in Lewiston.

• At 1:17 a.m. officers arrested Nicholas Jared Kelly, 37, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of third-degree driving while intoxicated. According to the report, officers initially stopped Kelly for reportedly rolling through a stop sign, speeding and having expired registration. A breath test reportedly measured his blood-alcohol content at 0.25 percent.

• At 3:57 a.m. officers arrested Glenda Ann Malchaski, 36, of Winona, and referred her to the county attorney for a potential charge of fourth-degree driving while intoxicated. According to the report, officers received a report of a vehicle that rolled off Riverview Drive. A breath test reportedly measured Malchaski’s blood-alcohol content at 0.13 percent.

Friday, January 10

• At 1:10 p.m. deputies arrested Blake Jenkins, 28, of Rollingstone, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of domestic assault causing fear. Jenkins reportedly cut a phone cord and other electrical cords in Rollingstone.

Saturday, January 11

• At 8:28 p.m. deputies ticketed Benjamin Francis Swain, 22, of Lewiston, with careless driving and having no proof of insurance after he was reportedly involved in a one-vehicle crash with no injuries in which his vehicle slid through a stop sign and went into a ditch near Cemetery Road and County Road 14.

• At 9:32 p.m. deputies arrested Katie Marie Hassler, 45, of Winona, and referred her to the county attorney for potential charges of domestic assault causing fear and domestic assault causing harm. According to the report, Hassler pushed a person into a countertop, pushed them to the ground, slapped them and punched them on Leeward Road.

Sunday, January 12

• At 9:22 a.m. a Dakota woman reported that someone threw eggs at her mailbox overnight on County Road 125.
