Matter of Faith: In-95 shortage

On November 7, 2013, America’s anti-communist Cold War Pastor celebrated his 95th birthday and delivered his “final sermon” to the guests, which included the future U.S. president destined to wage war on the COVID-19 uncommon cold. November is the 11th month, but if we keep counting past 12 months, so that January is 13, February is 14, etc., eventually we will get to the 95th month, which is November. Therefore Billy Graham’s birthday is not just on 11-7, but also on 95-7, and here is the “failure to hear the gospel” reason why:

Psalm 95:7-11 (NIV) “for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested me; they tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’”

In the book of Hebrews chapters three and four, we can see that writer referring back to this section of Psalm 95, and describing the failure to enter into God’s rest as coming “short.”

Hebrews 4:1-4 (KJV): “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.”

It would be nice to think Billy Graham’s “95th Final Sermon” proclaimed a gospel message in which Jesus does the work and unemployed sinners can’t and don’t, but like all decision theology gospels it lays the burden of responsibility, the work, on the sinner to save one’s self, thereby destroying the possibility of faith in Jesus Christ and replacing it with faith in Self. The end result of such messaging is a Psalm 95 “Short of entering N-to God’s 7th day Sabbath unemployment” – an “In-95” shortage – resulting in a massive group of people who falsely claim that they are unemployed and resting on Day 7, but are in fact a flock not under His care who are still spiritually working on Day 6 for $600 a week in a “(He) CARES” delusion, where staying at work in Day 6 and not entering into Day 7 depends on testing for the novel 7th “cold” of the 6 previously known to infect humans: 1) 229E, 2) NL63, 3) OC43, 4) HKU1, 5) MERS-CoV, 6) SARS-CoV, and 7) SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19.  Testing results, as in “Massah” a name/word meaning “testing”:

Psalm 95:8b-9a (NIV) “...at Massah in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested me...”
