Winona Police

Tuesday, July 28

•    At 10:06 a.m. officers received a report that $600 and a Walther .380 pistol were missing from a residence on the 250 block of East Ninth Street after someone removed an air conditioning unit and crawled through the resulting hole.

•    At 8:04 p.m. officers received a report that two packages were stolen from an apartment building on the 250 block of East Ninth Street.

Thursday, July 30

•    At 1:03 a.m. officers arrested Kyle Foster Casey, 49, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of gross-misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and second-degree test refusal after he was reportedly found sleeping in a vehicle in the Fleet Farm parking lot with a bottle of vodka next to him.

•    At 4:33 p.m. officers received a report that a package containing a rain gauge was stolen on the 650 block of East Fourth Street.

•    At 5:48 p.m. officers received a report that a blue adult tricycle was stolen on the 150 block of East Fourth Street.

•    At 6 p.m. officers received a report that a trolling motor was stolen at Dick’s Marine. The motor was ultimately recovered.

•    At 11:40 p.m. officers cited Matthew Zaborowski, 22, of Winona, with possession of a small amount of marijuana. Zaborowski reportedly admitted that he had about seven grams of marijuana in a compartment of a vehicle after he was pulled over for allegedly running a red light on Broadway and Huff Street. Officers reportedly found about seven grams of marijuana.

Friday, July 31

•    At 3:25 p.m. officers received a report that life jackets were stolen from a boat at Dick’s Marine.

•    At 5:25 p.m. officers arrested Paul Johnathan Ortiz Jr., 24, of Winona, on Ninth and Huff streets and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault causing fear and harm. He reportedly pushed, hit, choked and dragged someone on July 26.

Sunday, August 2

•    At 2:28 a.m. officers arrested Melvin Earl Kimp, 29, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of felony domestic assault causing fear. He reportedly jumped on someone’s vehicle and tried to get into the vehicle as the person attempted to drive away on the 850 block of West Broadway.

•    At 3:46 a.m. officers arrested Isaiah Anthony Barr, 30, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of felony domestic assault causing fear and harm. He reportedly head butted someone’s nose on the 550 block of East Fourth Street.

•    At 6:04 p.m. officers arrested Samuel Von Lee Jett, 19, of Westby, Wis., and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of domestic assault causing fear and harm. He reportedly grabbed at someone’s throat and slapped them in the head in the Menard’s parking lot.

Tuesday, August 4

•    At 2:09 a.m. a man was transported to Winona Health then taken by helicopter to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis., after he reportedly crashed a vehicle into Plumbers Mechanical Group at 293 Junction Street after being involved in a brief pursuit with officers.

•    At 7:30 a.m. officers received a report that the passenger-side window of a vehicle was broken on the 1250 block of Breezy Lane.

 

Winona County

Thursday, July 30

•    At 11:31 a.m. deputies arrested Chase Michael Wehner, 21, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. Deputies also arrested Ashley Marie Srock, 25, of Winona, on a warrant. Deputies reportedly pulled Wehner and Srock over on the 700 block of East Broadway in Winona for having a suspended object hanging in their vehicle. Deputies found one gram of methamphetamine on Wehner, according to the report.

Friday, July 31

•    At 2:52 p.m. deputies received a report of an ATV accident on the 30,000 block of County Road 33 in which a 12-year-old boy was injured and taken to the hospital.

 

Trempealeau County

Saturday, August 1

•    At 6:10 a.m. a 58-year-old Osseo, Wis., man was airlifted to a hospital in the Eau Claire, Wis., area for the treatment of injuries after being involved in a UTV accident on Isom Road in the Town of Hale. The man reportedly missed a turn while driving a UTV, resulting in him going down a ditch, rolling over and being trapped under the UTV for a few hours until his calls for help were heard by neighbors.
