The Winona Area Widowed Persons Group will have their Christmas potluck at the Winona Senior Friendship Center, Fifth and Main Streets, on Monday, January 5, at 6 p.m. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. Beverages will be furnished. Ken Seebold will speak about his African safari at 7:15 p.m.

The Winona Branch of the American Association of University Women is meeting Saturday, January 10, at Winona State University's Purple Room. AAUW is cosponsoring this year's Winona Reads selection, "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down," by Anne Fadiman. Discussion of this book will begin at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public. On January 12, Chautauqua will meet at the home of Grace Welle at 11 a.m. Co-hostesses for this meeting will be Susan Miller and Enda Fitzmaurice. Peg Zehren will present the program on "The Grand Excursion of 1854."
Harvest House will meet Wednesday, January 21, at St. Stanislaus Church for Mass at 1 p.m. with Father Laurence Ginther. The business meeting will follow in the church hall. Guest speakers Wayne and Nancy Dunbar, will talk and show slides about their experiences in Sierra Leone, Liberia, West Africa. Lunch will follow and the block nurse will weigh and take blood pressures.
