Florence Mary Grossell, 90, of Fountain City, Wis., died Saturday, December 25, 2004, at Community Memorial Hospital, Winona.

Florence was born in Fountain City on May 8, 1914, the daughter of Paul P. and Elizabet (Spehn) Abts. She married John C. Grossell on March 23, 1936, at Deer River, Minn. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1994.

Florence worked as a cook at St. Michael's Lutheran Home in Fountain City for many years.

She is the beloved mother of Byron Grossell of Fountain City, Kenneth (Geri) Grossell of Osakis, Minn., Jack (Diane) Grossell of Fountain City, Arlene Wiench and special friend, Bill Jeske, of Independence, Wis., Joan (Tom) Boland of Arcadia, Wis., and Kris (Scott) Ressie of Fountain City; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Robert, a brother, Orville Abts, a sister, Olivia Grossell, a daughter-in-law, Katie Grossell, and a son-in-law, Ben Wiench.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Florence on Tuesday, December 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City, with the Reverend Rick Roberts officiating. Spring burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fountain City.

Casketbearers were grandsons, Scott Wiench, Tom, Greg and Ryan Boland, Sean and Kory Ressie.

Memorial gifts may be given to St. Michael Lutheran Home, Fountain City, Wis.
