Palma "Polly" Gady, 83, died Sunday, December 26, 2004, at Lake Winona Manor, surrounded by her loving family.

Polly was born February 5, 1921, in New Hartford Township, Winona County, to Edgar and Dorothy Ready Pagel. She married Arnold Gady on March 9, 1940, at Nodine, Minn. Arnold preceded her in death on August 14, 1990.

Polly worked as a cook for twenty-five years at the old junior high school and later at the new senior high school.

She was a member of St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She made lifelong friends with everyone she worked with. She was a special lady who touched the hearts of many people. Family and friends were very important in her life, never missing a family reunion or her card parties with her special friends.

Christmas was her favorite time to show her love with special gifts, decorations and favorite baked goods, all coming from the heart.

She is survived by three daughters, Gay Lynn Miranda of Winona, Barb (Robert) Malewicki and Bonnie (Bob) Grant, both of Goodview, Minn.; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon (Glenna) Pagel, of El Cajon, Calif.; and two sisters, Geneva Goede of LaCrescent, Minn., and VerDonna Klinkhammer of Las Vegas, Nev.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Debi Steinfeldt, a sister, Beverly Malenke, and a son-in-law, David Miranda.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 30, at St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Reverend David Henslin officiating. Burial will be in Hiler Cemetery, Nodine.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Martin-Myhre Funeral Home and at the church on Thursday after noon.

Active casketbearers will be grandsons,Steve Miranda, Greg Miranda, Chief Petty Officer Rob Malewicki, Michael Grant, Chad Steinfeldt, Brian Steinfeldt and Jim Steinfeldt.

Honorary bearers will be granddaughters, Lynn Titel, Holly Schlink and Heidi Vietor.
