Organizers anticipate our leagues beginning the first full week in May and ending in mid to late August. To receive certification information you must contact the Minnesota Sports Federation office at 651-451-3140 or www.msfl.org and they will send you the necessary information. The mandatory local umpire’s meeting has been set for Monday, April 10, 2017, in city hall, council chambers, third floor from 5:30-7 p.m., to discuss the local rules and expectations plus discuss league assignments. Stop in at the Park and Recreation office in city hall to pick up a job application as soon as possible or call 507-457-8258 and staff will send you the forms. Umpires will receive $20 per game and will usually have two games per night, except Sundays, when there will likely be three games. Organizers would like to have all umpires CPR/first aid certified. Certification information is included in the job application letter; applications are also located oat www.cityofwinona.com.
