The Great River Shakespeare Festival and Island City Brewing Company will host “Bard. Beer. Birthday” to celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday and recognize GRSF volunteers next Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. This free event will take place at Island City Brewing at 65 East Front Street, Winona, and will include recognition of the Friends of Will, a taste of Doug Scholz-Carlson’s upcoming TEDx Talk, food, a cash bar, and music.
Attendees at the event will have an opportunity to discuss the upcoming season with GRSF staff, patronize a new Winona business, and enjoy some entertainment. Great River Shakespeare Festival organizers are looking forward to showing their gratitude for the hard work of the Friends of Will. Shakespeare’s Birthday is also one of GRSF’s last pre-season events before company members begin arriving in Winona in early May. By May 9, rehearsals will begin and the season will kick into high gear! To purchase tickets or season passes, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 507-474-7900, or stop in the GRSF Box Office during regular business hours.
