On the evening of August 24, the Winona Park and Recreation Department will be dedicating Bambenek Field 1 to Maynard R. Johnson. Players and fans are invited to attend a short dedication ceremony at 5:30 p.m. prior to the men’s slow-pitch softball playoff games which begin at 6 p.m. The rain date is August 31.

Volleyball officials, gym supervisors meeting
The Winona Park and Recreation adult co-rec volleyball officials meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 7 p.m. at city hall in the third-floor council chambers. All officials, supervisors and subs, please attend this meeting. At this meeting you will fill out all necessary employment paperwork and be given all league information.
The softball season is beginning to wind down. Managers, as you win either your league and/or playoffs, please stop into the Park and Recreation office to pick up your plaques before you forget.
Trash and aluminum cans
Please help keep the ballfields clean and park maintenance costs down by placing any empty cans and trash in the bin provided at each field before heading home for the night. Aluminum can collectors do not pick up cans like they used to so staff have been picking them up off the ground, requiring extra staff time to do so. Organizers are currently discussing recycling options at the fields. No glass is allowed at city parks.
