Winona Steamboat Days button design winners

The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Association unveiled the 2018 button design and announced its designer at Winona Senior High School (WSHS) to WSHS band fanfare. This year’s design winner is Joella Goyette, 10th grade student at Winona Senior High School, daughter of Chris and Jackie Goyette. Joella is a trumpeter in the WSHS band.

As the design winner, Joella received a plaque with her winning design, a personalized button to wear during steamboat days, a T-shirt with her design on it, two glasses with her design, and carnival armbands for her family. She will ride in the Kiddie Parade and Steamboat Days Grande Parade.

Steamboat Days will also award prizes for second place to Amanda Guillen, junior at WSHS, and third place to Carmelle Meyer, a seventh grader at Bluffview Montessori School.

Steamboat Days buttons will be available for sale at most Winona convenience stores, retailers, restaurants, Midtown Foods and Hy-Vee by May 19. With your advance button purchase of $5 you can register to win many great prizes donated by a variety of area merchants including a new picnic table from Anova.

Your Steamboat Days button purchase helps provide free events and activities for the festival such as the grande parade and the fireworks show!
