There will be a free manure and nutrient management seminar for feedlot operators (300 AU+) on Thursday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Minnesota State College Southeast, 1250 Homer Road, Winona. The purpose of this seminar is to provide information to improve plans to fulfill county and state requirements.
8:45 a.m.: Sign in, meet and greet, coffee and donuts
9-11 a.m.: MPCA staff will discuss how manure management planning will help you analyze Excel-based plan requirements to meet county and state requirements
11 a.m. to noon: Individualized help session for manure management plans
12-12:15 p.m.: Lunch break — free box lunches are provided. (If you have any dietary restrictions, please inform at registration.)
12:15-12:45 p.m.: University of Minnesota Extension Agriculture Educator Jake Overgaard: Nitrogen variability in manure, impacts on yield, movement of nitrogen in soils and research data.
12:45-3 p.m.: Winona County SWCD Resource Specialist II Amanda Gentry and Fillmore SWCD Nutrient Management Specialist Sara West: Nutrient management, feedlot fixes, technical assistance (319 low-cost fix, regional conservation partnership program EQIP), manure spreader calibration and more!
3-4:30 p.m.: Individualized work on plans and final questions

Bring a flash drive to take your work back to your office. If you have a laptop with your personal management plan, you can also bring it along. Remember, space is limited!
