The Winona Arts Center will present the Stanton West Trio on June 23 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Stanton West songs are rootsy, feel-good, and groove driven. His songs are about hope, having fun, being who you are, and relishing the moment. West is an award-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and world traveling troubadour spreading a message about the importance of family, community, nature, and positivity.
West sees the world from the perspective of a six and a half foot tall, left-handed, freckle-faced, redhead. Realizing he would never quite fit the mold, he embraced his uniqueness, picked up a right-handed guitar and started playing it upside-down. This was his first break from creative structures and limitations.
He currently resides in the rolling hills and winding rivers of the driftless area of Southwest Wisconsin with his family. Band members include Noah Short, percussion; Scott Lochner, bass; and Ryan Mingone, keys.
Tickets are $5 advance at Hardt’s Music, 115 East Third Street, and can also be found online at Eventbrite.com. There will be a $7-10 sliding fee at the door. Concert guests may bring their own beverages and treats. The Winona Arts Center is located at 228 East Fifth Street in Winona.
