Jen Zemke will perform on Saturday at Merrick State Park.

Merrick State Park to host free concert Aug. 11

The Merrick Turtles are sponsoring a free, one-night-only performance by Jen Zemke on Saturday, August 11, at 7 p.m. in Merrick State Park.

Jen Zemke is a chemistry professor by day who has had fun moonlighting as a singer and songwriter for the past 15 years. She enjoys playing and singing songs across eras and genres from Janis Joplin to Lady Gaga to Neko Case — and pretty much everything in between. She also likes to add a few of her original songs into the mix at every show. Her energy is high and she likes to have a great time on stage. Bring a lawn chair and some insect repellent and meet at the Nature Center. Please, no pets. Merrick State Park programs are free, but vehicle admission stickers are required to enter the park in a vehicle.
