Tom Luer to perform free jazz concert Nov. 10

(11/7/2018)

A free jazz concert featuring saxophonist Tom Luer with local musicians Mike Munson on guitar, Karyn Quinn on bass, Larry Price on piano, and Rich MacDonald on drums, will take place in the Winona State University Performing Arts Center, Vivian Fusillo Main Stage Theatre, on Saturday, November 10, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Luer, who was born and raised in the Chippewa Falls, Wis., area, is a busy tenor saxophonist in Los Angeles, both live and in studios. He has played with Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, John Beasley’s Monk-estra, and recently on Dave Slonaker’s Grammy-nominated CD, “Intrada.” Luer is a featured guest artist at this year’s 14th annual High School Honor Band Jazz Festival. Select honor band members will perform with the quintet.
