A Winona Kwik Trip was robbed at gunpoint by two men on Saturday night, according to the Winona Police Department.
At 9:08 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, police received a report of an armed robbery at the Kwik Trip on West Broadway and South Baker Street. According to witnesses, two African-American men wearing all black with masks covering their faces entered the store. One of the two reportedly had what witnesses believed to be a handgun.
According to the report, the first man ordered the clerk down on the ground while another employee who was by the coolers approached when he heard a commotion. The second employee was also ordered to the ground behind the counter as well.
The two men stole an undetermined amount of cash and tobacco products from the store, though employees stated they couldn’t be sure because they were unable to see the suspects.
After taking the money, the two men fled the store on foot and police were called shortly after. There were no injuries, and the store was closed for a short time following the incident.
This is an ongoing investigation.
