Shelley Milek and Jack Richter enjoy the virtual-reality experience.
On Wednesday, January 23, Jack Richter stopped by the Winona Middle School (WMS) Media Center with Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS) Executive Director Shelley Milek to visit with technology integrationist and media specialist Jen Snook about the new virtual technology (VT) equipment for WMS students. The VR equipment was made possible by a Foundation Dare to Dream grant written by Snook and awarded by the Foundation for WAPS. Snook is getting all the software and equipped ready to implement in WMS classrooms very soon.
Jack Richter is president of WNB Financial. The bank has been a lead sponsor of the foundation fundraiser every year since its inception in 2011. “The foundation is so grateful to have the continuous support of Jack Richter and WNB Financial,” stated Milek. “With their continuous support, we are able to enrich and enhance the education of our students and keep our schools strong.”
When asked about the bank’s ongoing lead sponsor support for foundation fundraising events, Richter replied, “WNB Financial is happy and grateful to serve as a lead sponsor for the Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools’ fundraising events to support academics, athletics, arts and activities for WAPS students. At WNB Financial we know that strong schools create strong communities and we heartily support the foundation’s efforts to strengthen opportunities for students and classrooms in the Winona Area Public Schools.”
During this annual event planning, the foundation reaches out to publicly thank Richter and WNB Financial for their perennial support; and the most preferred way for Richter is to invite him to see education in action! He thoroughly enjoyed trying out the VR equipment and appreciated its many curriculum applications to excite and support student learning.
