Winona man charged with burglary, assault

A 34-year-old Winona man faces multiple felony charges after he alleged forcibly entered an apartment and assaulted a resident, according to the Winona Police Department. 
Damien Bryant Winn was arrested and referred to the county attorney for potential charges of first-degree burglary and third-degree assault following an alleged incident on Monday night.
At 10:46 p.m. police responded to a medical dispatch to a residence on the 1700 block of Kramer Drive. According to police, a female resident found blood all over her apartment and a man locked in her bathroom.


Another female witness reported that Winn had entered the residence without permission and assaulted a man. The victim reportedly had a broken nose, a broken eye socket, and a detached eye. He was administered first aid on the scene and subsequently transported to Winona Health for the treatment of his injuries. 
Winn was located on the 1700 block of West Seventh Street and was arrested after reportedly admitted to the assault.
