The Liberty Swing is wheelchair accessible and was built to bring joy to special-needs children and adults who have never had the opportunity.
The Mission 66 Playground in Houston, Minn., has been completed! A dedication celebration will be held on Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at its location in Houston’s Central Park. The playground is completely inclusive and is one-of-a-kind for this area. It features a unique wheelchair-accessible swing (the Liberty), sponsored by AcenTek Communications, that will be introduced to the community and made operational that day for the first time.
Playground designers noted it is rare for them to see a playground of this size and scope to be successfully built in a community as small as Houston, but after more than two years of hard work, perseverance and belief in the project, it’s become a reality. It will be there for many, many years to come for the enjoyment of all children, regardless of abilities.
