A 19-year-old Winona man was reportedly stabbed on Monday and a suspect is in custody, according to the Winona Police Department (WPD).
On August 12 at approximately 1:24 a.m. the WPD responded to a call from a residence on the 400 block of West Ninth Street, where they found a victim who had been reportedly stabbed multiple times by an acquaintance inside the residence. The suspect had fled and was later located at a residence on the 300 block of West Broadway, according to Winona Police Chief Paul Bostrack.
The victim was transported to Winona Health and then transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. He reportedly sustained multiple stab wounds and his condition was unknown as of Monday afternoon.
The suspect has been referred to the Winona County Attorney’s Office for criminal charges.
