Winona Symphony Orchestra is excited to invite community members to its fourth annual Summer Social on Sunday, August 18, from 1-4 p.m., at Elmaro Vineyard, N14756 Delaney Road in Trempealeau.
The Summer Social will feature live music by Flutistry, River City String Quartet, Dr. Erik Rhode and Hilary Kingsley (violin duets), Michael Van Ryn (string bass solos), and Cindy Johnson and Steve Pelkey (cello duets).
New this year will be a silent auction, including an array of great offerings such as once-a-month homemade pie; “Raspberry Island” by Libby Larson, featuring a signed copy of the first page of the score; tickets to the Rochester Civic Theater Company; a bottle of wine from Vienna; and many more enticing items!
Elmaro Vineyard will offer tours highlighting a behind-the-scenes view of the vineyard and winery.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Hors d’oeuvres and one glass of wine are included in the ticket price, and additional glasses of wine will be available for purchase. Advance tickets are available at Hardt’s Music & Audio (115 East Third Street in Winona), Chapter 2 Books (121 West Third Street in Winona), and at Elmaro Vineyard. This social/fundraising event kicks off the symphony’s exciting 2019-2020 season! Its second season with outstanding director/conductor Erik Rhode includes a fall concert on Saturday, September 14, 2019; a children’s concert on February 18, 2020; and a spring concert on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Brochures with more information regarding the up-coming concerts, as well as season tickets and individual concert tickets, will be available at the Summer Social.
Besides those for purchase to the fall and spring concerts, the symphony offers free tickets to elementary and middle school students accompanied by a paid adult admission, as well as free tickets to high school students presenting a student I.D.
