Celebrate the holiday season at the Winona Arts Center with art, Christmas stories, and music on Saturday, November 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
HoliDaze Free Ink will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winona Arts Center’s “RiverBed Press” Print Studio. Adults and children alike may print their own original monotype holiday cards and gift tags, while learning the monoprint process (a painterly printmaking technique). Allow at least 30 minutes to create your works.
Performances and HoliDaze treats and refreshments begin at 1 p.m. on the main floor. At 1:30 p.m. there will a reading by Ray Felton of “A Christmas Memory” by Truman Capote. In it, Capote shares a special Christmas adventure story with a beloved cousin before they part company. The Winona Fiddlers, directed by Betsy Neil, will play at 2:15 p.m. Then at 3:15 p.m. Taff Roberts will read “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Dylan Thomas. This is a short story about the recollection of a boy’s memories about Christmas day.
