Please join the Winona Arts Center (WAC), 228 East Fifth, in Giving the Arts a Lift. The center, established in 1956, is in a former church building which is not handicapped accessible and the center board is working to wrap up a capital campaign to construct an accessible entrance, including a lift which will allow access to all levels.
The estimated cost is $150,000 and the center has raised $77,000. The goal is to raise the remaining $73,000 by April 1, 2020, so construction can begin in spring 2020.
The mission of the Winona Arts Center is to provide a venue for creative performances, exhibits, and educational experiences in the arts. The center offers the Frances Prentiss Lucas Gallery, a performance stage, film screening venue, and art studio featuring a printing press. Each year it is estimated that 1,300 participate in the Winona Arts Center programs and events.
