‘Unaccompanied Minors’ to perform at Old Main
“Unaccompanied Minors” is a self organized group of high school aged young people from Galesville. Three go to G-E-T; one is home schooled. The group is becoming popular among people who hear them.
Old Main’s Gale Star program will present “Valentine Vocals” on Thursday, February 13, at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy the music in a bistro setting — accompanied by cheesecake desserts with your choice of toppings and sparkling grape juice. The vocalists will be Bella Voce, an a cappella madrigal group from La Crosse, Wis., directed by Denise Christy; Galesville’s popular barbershop quartet, Unaccompanied Minors; and Selah-Marie Castelana, a soloist from UW-L, with Dr. Pamela Kelly accompanying her on piano. Members of the groups will also offer a duet and solos. Audiences at Old Main are coming to enjoy the rich mix of musical experiences offered by the Gale Star program. This one evening will offer madrigal music, barbershop, classical solos, and jazz standards. Sweethearts and singles alike won’t want to miss this evening of love songs.
The art on display in the gallery is Rev. Jim Riley’s collection of waterscape photos. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for college students. The event is free to people in high school and younger.
Old Main is located at 20869 College Avenue in Galesville. Turn into Galesville at the stop light. From the Galesville square take West Gale or West Ridge Avenue to County Road T. From T turn south at 12th Street, then turn right on College Avenue. Signs are posted.
