The Winona Arts Center is pleased to celebrate the art of the late Dee Cipov and Susan Briggs in a retrospective exhibit of their artwork. Both women were long-time members, supporters, and volunteers at the Winona Arts Center. The exhibit will run through September 22. The public is invited to a reception for this special exhibition on Thursday, September 6, from 5-6:30 p.m.

Cipov, originally from Chetek, Wis., was a long-time resident of Winona. She didn’t really begin exploring art processes and media until after retiring from teaching home economics in area public schools. This exhibit includes pieces in a number of those media including etchings, relief prints, watercolors, pastels, and mosaics, as well as one piece of sculpture. Her work includes images from her kayaking, cross country skiing and bicycling adventures as well as vacations, among other things.

Briggs, originally from New York, grew up in Iowa and later became a Winona resident in 1970. She was an avid watercolorist and a member of a Winona watercolor group and has a variety of representational watercolors in the exhibit. Her love of animals, nature, and the outdoors is well represented in her paintings.

Gallery hours for the exhibit are on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and on Fridays from 3-6 p.m.
