All classes, events and programs will meet at the Whitewater Valley Visitor Center unless otherwise noted.
Saturday, May 25, 7-8:30 p.m.
People often hear them calling in the dark of night, but most people are unfamiliar with the elusive creatures known as owls. After the presentation, the group will go “prowling” for owls using newly learned owling skills. This program is guaranteed to be a “hoot” for all ages!
Intro to trout fishing
Sunday, May 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Meet at the South Picnic Area for a fun time fishing. Equipment will be provided. Bring your own bait; worms often work best. Fishing licenses and trout stamps are not required when fishing during the activity. This program will be offered at Whitewater every Sunday through September 2.
Sunday, May 26, 12:30-2 p.m.
Join master bird-bander Greg Munson at the visitor center bird feeders for close-up experiences with birds. Program participants will have the opportunity to handle and release birds after they have been caught in nets, studied, observed and banded with an aluminum tag. In the event of rain, the program will be cancelled.
Live peregrine falcon
Sunday, May 26, 2-3 p.m.
Jackie Fallon with the Midwest Peregrine Society will present this program with a live peregrine falcon to help participants understand the past, present and future of peregrine falcons in the Whitewater Valley and throughout the Midwest.
